What Belora is, and what it is not

Belora Jewelry sells body piercing jewellery online from the United Kingdom. That is the whole of the business. We do not perform piercings, we do not operate a studio, and we do not give medical advice — if a piercing is painful, inflamed or not settling, the people to ask are your piercer and, where there is any suspicion of infection, a doctor.

We publish a library of guides on sizing, materials and healing because those are the questions people ask before they buy, and because most of the jewellery market answers them badly. Those guides cite the standards they refer to and are written to be checkable. Where we have an interest in the answer, we say so on the page.

Materials, stated precisely

The claim we make about the core range is specific and falsifiable: it is titanium to ASTM F136, the specification covering wrought Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy for surgical implant applications. The alloy contains titanium, aluminium and vanadium, and no nickel.

We avoid three phrases that are common in this market and mean nothing on their own:

• “Surgical steel” — not a standard. 316L, the grade usually meant, contains roughly 10 to 14 percent nickel.
• “Medical grade” and “implant grade” without a number — neither has a legal definition. The number is the claim.
• “Hypoallergenic” — an unregulated marketing word. What is actually regulated in the UK and EU is nickel release, under REACH Annex XVII entry 27, tested to EN 1811.

Not every item in our catalogue is titanium. A small number of pieces are 316L stainless steel or have plated finishes, and those are described that way on their own product pages rather than folded into the titanium claim. The rule we hold ourselves to is simple: if a listing does not say ASTM F136, it is not ASTM F136.

How to check any of this

None of the above should be taken on trust, including from us. Four questions separate a seller holding certified stock from one reselling unverified stock, and they work on any jewellery retailer:

• Which standard is the metal? An ASTM number, or it is not an answer.
• Is the decorative top the same material as the bar? On many pieces it is not.
• Which threading type? Threadless, internally threaded, or externally threaded — stated, not implied.
• What is the bar length in millimetres? A gauge alone does not tell you whether a bar is 6mm or 10mm.

Ask us those four and you will get four direct answers. A seller who redirects to how hypoallergenic something is has answered a different question.

Pricing, plainly

Our range runs from £9.99 to £35.99 per piece, with most items around £14. That sits inside the realistic UK band for genuine implant-grade titanium, which is roughly £10 to £25 a piece from a specialist.

Two comparisons worth being honest about. Below roughly £5 a piece, certified titanium is not commercially plausible, so cheaper listings are a different product rather than a better deal — though for a fully healed lobe they may be perfectly adequate. And a piercing studio will typically charge the jewellery price plus a fitting fee of around £10 to £20, which buys measurement and safe insertion. For a first downsize, or a placement you cannot reach, that fee is worth paying and we would rather you paid it than got it wrong cheaply with us.

Shipping, returns and consumer rights

Orders are packed within 1 to 3 business days and typically arrive 7 to 14 business days after dispatch, tracked. We ship to the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the European Union. Import duties and taxes, where they apply, are the customer's responsibility.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt. Because this is body jewellery, the item must be unworn and still in its original sealed packaging — we cannot accept a return on anything that has been opened, for the same hygiene reasons that apply in any piercing studio. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are a separate matter and we will put those right regardless.

UK customers also hold statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires goods to be as described and of satisfactory quality, and under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing in our own policy reduces those.
