Belly Button Piercing Jewellery
One gauge, and length that actually matters
Navel piercings are unusually unforgiving about fit. The bar sits against a waistband all day and moves with every bend, so a length that is wrong in either direction causes problems β too short presses on the tissue, too long swings and catches.

Getting the size right
- 14G is effectively universal. Navel piercings are almost always 1.6mm. A 16G ear bar is too fine and will migrate in a navel channel.
- 10mm is standard, 8mm for shallower anatomy. Measure the straight section of a bar you already wear comfortably β not the ends, just the bar between them.
- Length matters more than style here. A bar that is too short puts constant pressure on the tissue and is a common cause of migration; one that is too long moves around and catches on clothing.
Not sure of your gauge or length? The Belora size guide walks through measuring in about 30 seconds, and our material page explains why every core piece is ASTM F136 titanium. If you would rather start from what other people already wear, the best reviewed pieces each hold 50+ reviews. Our materials and company standards page sets out exactly what we stock and how to check it.
Which style suits a navel
-
Curved barbell
The standard navel shape, following the natural curve of the piercing. Internally threaded so there is no exposed thread to drag through the channel.

CZ dangle
A charm hanging from the lower ball. Best on a fully healed piercing β the extra weight and movement is not something a settling navel handles well.

Minimalist banana bar
A plain curved bar with two beads. The most comfortable option under a waistband and the quietest under clothing.

Sizes and healing times on this page are typical ranges, not guarantees β anatomy varies, and healing differs from person to person.
